What is Gantt Chart?
Gantt Chart is a schedule. This chart is very convenient when you want to plan your projects, orders, manufacturing and to see if enough resources are available.
How to open Gantt chart?
To open Gantt chart page for the first time you should activate the Gantt chart module:
- Go to BeeDo Settings;
- Choose "Calendar";
- Mark checkbox "Gantt".
After the module activation you can open the chart:
- Click "Dashboards" in the main menu;
- Click "Gantt".
How to add functions to the chart?
To add function to the Gantt chart type its name into the search box on the top left hand corner. When adding new function you must specify the beginning or the end date for it.
- On the left hand side you can find a list of functions, which are added to the Gantt chart already. Approved functions are listed at the top.
- You can sort functions by entering number to the box on left of function name. The functions will be classified by the numbers assigned in ascending order.
- A clock symbol means that the function is not approved yet. By clicking on an icon you can change planned start or end date of the function.
- Click red "X" symbol to remove function from the Gantt chart.
How to manage functions in the chart?
In the chart you will see those phases, which has specified "related" people. To add new person as "related" open phase edit table. Enter person name in the field "Related" on the left hand side.
Attention! In the Gantt chart you will see just those planned (left to work) hours, which are assigned to the "related" persons. If phases assignee is not in the related persons list, you will see a note. But if you don't want to count in his/her time to the Gantt chart, you can leave a phase as it is.
Function phases are shown as colored blocks:
- blue indicates that the task is planned and there is enough available resources to accomplish it;
- red means that the phase delays;
- orange shows that there's a lack of resources;
- light blue color displays closed phase (marked as "done");
- gray displays archived tasks.
Move your mouse to the orange block and system will show you how many resources you need.
- Click phase with the right mouse button and move that phase, edit or go to the function tasks tree.
- To reposition one phase drag it.
- To select more than one phase please hold "Ctrl" button on your keyboard and then click on each phase you need. Selected phases will be shown with a red shadow.
- To move full function to the next date, select all of its phases and click "arrow to the side" on your keyboard. Specify by how many days forward / backward you want to move the function. Also you can enter different date by clicking clock symbol by the function name.
- You can't select or move phases which belongs to approved function.
Filters and quick control
On the top right hand corner you can find filters. Here you must choose a Space (if you have more than one). Also you can filter your functions:
- if the filters are not marked, you will see all active and pending functions;
- you can filter to see only the approved functions;
- functions that have already been completed;
- phases that have already been completed, but function is still in progress.
- Move your mouse to the schedule and use a wheel to extend or reduce the period of the visible screen.
- Press Alt on your keyboard and use mouse scroll to shift the chart to the side. Also you can click on free space and drag.
